A poem to survivors

I know that you feel dirty,
i know that you feel used
I know that you feel guilty,
because you were abused
These feelings are all natural,
it's what you were always told
But please believe me when i say,
the guilt is theirs to hold
You have nothing to be ashamed of,
it was nothing you said or did
They were adults,they chose to abuse,
you were a helpless little kid
I know you tried to stop them,
i know you tried to fight
But lets be real what could you do,
against an adults might
Now please just try to be honest,
and say how you really feel
Acknowledge the fear and the anger,
and the pain are incredibly real
One step at a time we will take it
,you know thats the only way
Given help and understanding,
im sure one day you will say
They ruined my past,as far back as i can see
But they will not ruin my future
THE FUTURES FOR ME !!!
