Poem Please mum

I can barely walk,but you don't seem to see
just how bad your brothers hurting me
i try to tell you,but you wont let me say
you slap me down,then push me away
i beg and i plead,just for a hug
but you stamp on my needs as if i'm a bug
i tell you i need you and ask you to stay
to keep me safe,make the pain go away
you shout in my face,tell me to grow up
i stand there shaking like a scolded pup
i'm still so little,just barely nine
but i understand now these problems are mine
